Thanks for everything, Bruno!
We had a little bit of movement on the transaction front on Tuesday.
With center Bruno Fernando’s guarantee date coming up 48 hours later on August 1 (a date that had been pushed back twice already), the Atlanta Hawks have decided to request waivers on Fernando so as to not guarantee his $2.7 million salary for 2024-25.
For your endless passion and energy, thank you @BrunoFernandoMV pic.twitter.com/0fQ2xLEVwF

This had been Fernando’s second stint with the Hawks, after a 2019-2021 stretch following being grabbed in the second-round of the 2019 NBA Draft. Fernando averaged 6.3 points points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game on 15.2 minutes per contest last season.
The Hawks also made an addition on Tuesday, adding former San Antonio Spur Dominick Barlow on a two-way contract.
We have signed forward Dominick Barlow to a two-way contract.

Barlow is a defensive-minded 6-foot-9 forward/center with a 7-foot-3 wingspan who went undrafted out of high school in 2022. A local connection athlete, he spent a season with nearby Overtime Elite in the Atlantic Station area of Atlanta in the 2021-22 season. In his two-season NBA career so far, he’s posted 4.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.5 blocks per game in 13.6 minutes of action per game.
He now joins Seth Lundy and Keaton Wallace as two-way players who all project to see a lot of time with the College Park Skyhawks next season.
