Comeback wasted.
The Hawks hosted the Toronto Raptors at home on the tail end of a back-to-back. They looked to redeem themselves after an abysmal shooting performance – and loss – the night prior against the Detroit Pistons. Onyeka Okongwu remained a starter alongside Trae Young, Dyson Daniels, Vit Krejci, and Jalen Johnson.
The Raptors scored the first five points, then Trae Young started things out for the Hawks with a three-pointer. The Raptors took a 16-8 lead before Snyder used his first timeout. The sluggish start continued beyond the timeout, as the Raptors lead grew to 22-12. Bogdanovic finally saw a three-pointer go in and scored an and-one two possessions later. After one quarter, the Hawks trailed 35-25. Dominick Barlow stepped in and played some solid minutes in the absence of Clint Capela.

In the second quarter, Jalen Johnson sustained an injury to the left shoulder. He immediately exited to the locker room and would not return to the game. The Raptors led by as much as 17 and the Hawks were able to cut the deficit as low as four. It was Raptors 65 to the Hawks’ 59 at halftime. Daniels led the way with 15 points, and Bogdanovic and Okongwu joined him in double figures.
The third quarter played almost even and the Hawks entered the fourth quarter trailing by just five. David Roddy saw his first minutes of the game, and Daniels had already amassed 20 points and four steals.
Early in the fourth quarter, the Hawks went on a 10-2 run to tie the game up at 103. Hunter made a three-pointer, then Bogdanovic tied it up on the following possession.

The Hawks briefly led then seceded the lead with roughly three minutes remaining, but Daniels tied it back up on the other end. The Hawks would end up with the ball and a score of 119-20, trailing by one. Young missed a three, and Hunter missed on a tough drive. Poeltl made two free throws on the other end. They now had a chance to send the game into overtime.
Okongwu missed a tough three-point attempt and the Hawks lost 122-119.
