The Atlanta Hawks will explore trade possibilities involving anyone on their roster beyond Jalen Johnson and Zaccharie Risacher, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. The Hawks previously made Dejounte Murray available in trade talks leading to the deadline. Those talks will be revisited and they will also listen on Trae Young, Clint Capela and all other players beyond Johnson and Risacher.
If Young is traded by the Hawks, he views the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans as attractive possibilities. Young is on a five-year, $212 million contract after he qualified for the Rose rule in 2022. Young cannot become a free agent until 2026 with his player option.
In 54 games in 23-24, Young averaged 25.7 points, 10.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 36.0 minutes. Young, who was previously represented by Klutch Sports, now counts Aaron Mintz and Drew Morrison as his agents.
Murray and the Hawks signed a four-year, $120 million extension during the 2023 offseason. Murray is represented by Rich Paul and cannot become a free agent until 2027 with his player option for 27-28.
