No afternoon hoops.
The effects of the snowstorm that rolled in over the weekend has now impacted the Atlanta Hawks’ game schedule.
In light of a planned home afternoon game against the Houston Rockets, the league has decided to suspend the contest.
Shams Charania of ESPN has the news:
NBA has postponed Rockets-Hawks in Atlanta today due to severe weather and hazardous icy conditions.

With the difficulties in just getting to State Farm Arena in what was supposed to be a Kids Day family affair, this is assuredly the right call.
The Hawks also released a statement, indicating that tickets and parking passes will be transferred to the new game date in the future.

The reschedule of the game has yet to be announced. The Hawks will next play the Phoenix Suns at home on Tuesday evening — assuming efforts to clear the roadways have been successful.
