Huge games from Keaton Wallace and Daeqwon Plowden.
The Atlanta Hawks were in Chicago on Wednesday night to face the Bulls on the second night of a back-to-back. The Hawks got a big win last night against the Suns, as Trae Young finished with 43 points and Onyeka Okongwu finished with 22 points and 21 rebounds.
The Hawks were without De’Andre Hunter and Jalen Johnson in that game, and the injury report looked worse against the Bulls. Johnson, Hunter, Young, and Zaccharie Risacher were out for this game, which meant it was next man up for the Hawks.
It was a night start for the Hawks as they got out to a 6-0 lead, which included this shifty layup by Dyson Daniels.

Keaton Wallace and Daeqwon Plowden were two of the players called up from the College Park Syhawks to fill out the roster due to injuries, and they made their presence known early in the game.

The Bulls found a groove late in the quarter and ended up only trailing by two points going into the second quarter. The Hawks continued putting the pressure on the Bulls, and it started with them turning defense into offense.

Wallace continued his strong play, hitting shots and playing good defense on the other end. This steal led him to get a fastbreak layup, plus the foul, putting the Hawks up by 13 points. On the next possession, he got a floater to go down and put the Hawks up by 15.

The Bulls started to make a run and cut their deficit down to as low as six points, but the Hawks ran the score back up. Okongwu found Dyson Daniels for this cut to the basket and he got fouled.

The Hawks had a lead as big as 17 in the second half, and they were clicking on all cylinders going into halftime, as they led 61-47. Going into the third quarter, the Hawks continued to maintain their lead. Vit Krejci found Capela for an easy dunk off of a lob pass.

The Bulls started to creep back into the game, but the Hawks once again neutralized them and went on a run themselves. That included a flurry of threes from Bogdan Bogdanovic and Plowden.

Wallace finished with 27 points, six rebounds, and six assists, Plowden finished with 19 points, Daniels finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, and Okongwu finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
