LeBron James previously declared his intent on playing with Bronny James before retiring. That made his response to a 2024 mock draft particularly compelling for Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.
ESPN recently projected Atlanta to select Bronny with the No. 17 pick in 2024. LeBron had fun with the prediction, writing on Instagram that “the #JamesGang will be pulling up” to Atlanta.”
NBA Central, a popular Twitter account, placed LeBron’s comment side-by-side with a PhotoShop of him and Bronny wearing Hawks jerseys. Young noticed the post and appeared to send a message to the James family.
“Talk soon,” Young replied.

LeBron can opt out of his current contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after the 2023-24 season. That will likely lead to rampant speculation regarding Bronny’s landing spot.
Would LeBron leave L.A. for Atlanta, or anywhere else, to team with his son? The Hawks might not be the most desirable destination following a 41-41 season, but they’d instantly become a top attraction.
Of course, there’s no way to know who will draft Bronny next year. Yet the possibility to wooing LeBron in a package deal could loom large.
