On the eve of the 2024 NBA draft, the Atlanta Hawks are messaging to other teams and reporters that they have yet to decide on who to select at No. 1 even while not engaging on trade discussions. The Hawks have been most strongly linked to Zaccharie Risacher with the pick.
“Certainly, Zach Risacher, he’s prominent in their conversations in Atlanta,” said Adrian Wojnarowski on SportsCenter Tuesday evening. “They have not yet landed, I’m told, on who they’re going to take number one. And there are a few players that they really like. What they’re trying to figure out in Atlanta, is there one they love? And, you know, they still have 24 hours-plus to make that decision, but they’ve been sifting through all their data.
“This is an organization that, I think, right now looks very much like they’re going to keep that number one pick. “They’re not engaged with anybody about moving down. Certainly, Risacher is prominent in that conversation, but Atlanta has not yet landed on what they’ll do Wednesday night with number one.”
