Chris Sale takes the mound against the Twins
The Atlanta Braves are set to take on the Minnesota Twins at North Port, FL. and Chris Sale is on the mound, and there are still some roster spot battles going on. This could be a fun one to watch.
Unfortunately, a new battle for a roster spot has emerged now that Sean Murphy has a cracked rib. The interesting part will be who makes the roster because of it. It will not be as simple as Chadwick Tromp and Drake Baldwin. There are many nuances involved like service time manipulation, and players being out of options.
Although the new CBA incentivizes starting top prospects early, it does not guarantee it. This means Baldwin is not necessarily a lock. Tromp is out of options, so the Braves would potentially lose him to waivers should he not break camp on the squad.
The Braves have Curt Casali, Sandy León, and Adam Zebrowski as non-roster invitees that could potentially win a spot on the roster if they win out a battle in spring training. Watching the catchers today and for upcoming games will be intriguing.

Baldwin will be getting the start today in a lineup that could potentially be used in the regular season.
Randy Dobnak is pitching for the Twins and is a RHP. He also will likely not be pitching many innings. Depending health of the lineup, Albies profiles better hitting second against lefties and further down the order against righties, but this is just a spring game.
The first pitch is at 1:05 eastern and can be streamed free on MLB.com, or for those who enjoy the radio can listen on WIFN 1340 AM/103.7FM.
