Andruw Jones, Brian McCann fall short on the 2025 ballot.
The Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum announced the results for the 2025 elections, as voted on by qualifying members of the Baseball Writer’s Association of America (BBWAA).
On his tenth, and final appearance on the ballot, former Atlanta Braves closer Billy Wagner was elected after narrowly missing the total needed for election in 2024.

Joining him in this year’s induction class is long-time MLB outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, the first player born in Japan to be elected, and starting pitcher CC Sabathia. Suzuki finished one vote short of being unanimously voted into the Hall of Fame.
Just missing out on election was former Atlanta Braves outfielder Andruw Jones, who was on the ballot for the eighth time. Jones has made steady progress and still has two more cycles to gain induction by the BBWAA after gaining 66.2 percent of the vote this year.

Longtime Braves catcher Brian McCann was on the ballot for the first time but did not gain enough votes – 5-percent of the total – to stay on the ballot in 2026. His 1.8-percent was a surprisingly low total, even for a player whose case was bolstered by advanced metrics on his elite pitch framing ability.
Starting pitcher Felix Hernandez, who was with Atlanta in Spring Training in 2020 before opting out after the COVID-19 delay, will return to the 2026 ballot with 20.6-percent of the vote.
Also just missing out on election was outfielder Carlos Beltran with just more than 70-percent of the vote. Beltran and Jones could both make the voting jump needed for election in 2026.

Wagner finished is illustrious 16-year career with Atlanta in 2010 collecting 37 saves and an All-Star selection with the Braves.
Jones, one of the greatest defensive players on the modern era, will have to wait at least one more year to hear his name called.
The three new Hall of Famers join outfielders Dave Parker and Dick Allen who were elected as part of the veterans vote earlier this offseason in the 2025 class.
