The pitching is incredibly deep within the organization – lets hope the positional prospects take a leap forward.
Minor League baseball is getting fully ramped up this Friday, after Triple-A got started last Friday. Each team in the Atlanta Braves organization released their rosters today so let’s go take a look at the rosters.

There’s no denying the talent amongst the pitching staff over in Columbus highlighted by Lucas Braun, Blake Burkhalter, Drue Hackenberg, Jhancarlos Lara, Elison Johseph, Hayden Harris, Rolddy Munoz – each who have their own intriguing arguments for potentially finding playing time in Atlanta as soon as this year. Factor in steady arms like Patrick Halligan, Jonathan Hughes, Ian Mejia, and Shay Schanaman and you have incredible pitching depth on an every day basis.
The positional prospects are a bit weaker with Carlos Rodriguez, Drew McCabe, and Drew Compton leading the charge. Add in Kevin Kilpatrick Jr., Ethan Workinger, Cade Bunnell, Cal Conley, and David Fletcher and you have some solid pieces to fill out the lineup. Columbus, who debut as a team this season, should be an interesting team.

If the pitching staff over in Columbus didn’t get you excited enough, you can take a three hour trip over to Rome and see…another fantastic pitching staff. JR Ritchie, Garrett Baumann, Didier Fuentes, Herick Hernandez, and Adam Maier make up an outstanding pitching rotation that should perform quite well at the High-A level. Add in Luis Vargas, Ryan Bourassa, Giomar Diaz, Cory Wall, Samuel Strickland and a few others and you have fantastic depth throughout the bullpen.
Offensively it’s another conversation as the group is definitely headlined by Ambioris Tavarez, EJ Exposito, and Patrick Clohisy. Tyler Tolve and Harry Owen give Rome a very solid catching tandem while Clohisy-Dumitru-Paolini should provide quality defense in the outfield.

The GreenJackets pitching staff has a lot of intriguing arms with the likes of Luis Arestigueta, Ethan Bagwell, Owen Hackman, Jacob Kroeger, Jeremy Reyes, Logan Samuels, Luke Sinnard, and Brett Sears perhaps being the most notable players.
While there is quite solid depth in the pitching ranks, it’s the positional players that have potentially the highest variance and could really stick out either positively or negatively. Nick Montgomery, the Braves 2024 5th round pick will start his season in Augusta and provides extreme power potential. John Gil is the most intriguing member of the infield that also has an intriguing Carlos Monteverde, Colby Jones, and Mason Guerra.
The outfield is perhaps the most intriguing set of positional players in the organization as it has a few absolute wildcards with high potential in Isaiah Drake, Luis Guanipa, and Douglas Glod. That trio along with Owen Carey, and Eric Hartman make it a very interesting outfield group.
Missing Players
There are still quite a few notable players who are missing from rosters and this means they are either in extended Spring Training getting additional work before being placed on a team, or they are rehabbing from injury. This list includes: Mario Baez, Diego Benitez, Junior Garcia, Robert Gonzalez, Luis Parababire, Jose Perdomo, Cayman Goode, and the recently acquired Nathan Wiles.
There are also some key injuries including Owen Murphy, Davis Polo, Royber Salinas, Cedric De Grandpre, Isaac Gallegos, Will King, and Carter Holton. It was rumored that top draft pick Cam Caminiti was feeling discomfort during the offseason, however has responded well and will likely be headed to extended to ramp up on baseball activities before making his highly anticipated debut later this season.
