The Atlanta Braves announced Thursday that they signed outfielder Alex Verdugo to a one-year, $1.5M deal. He was then optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

28-year-old Verdugo spent the 2024 campaign with the New York Yankees, where he appeared in 149 games. He had a tough season, logging just a .233 batting average and a .291 on-base percentage.
The Braves also announced that they outrighted infielder Luke Williams to Triple-A.
