Atlanta Braves news and notes from Thursday.
Former major leaguer and legendary broadcaster Bob Uecker passed away Thursday at age 90 after a battle with cancer. Uecker suited up for the Milwaukee Braves in 1962 and 1963, and with a few teams in between, he made it back to the Braves again in 1967, only that time in Atlanta. During his partial season in Atlanta, he caught 59 games and owned a .972 fielding percentage.
He was best known for his time in the broadcast booth, where he called games for the Milwaukee Brewers. We send our condolences to his loved ones.
