Atlanta Braves news and notes from Tuesday.
Per the transaction log, the Atlanta Braves have added second baseman Eddy Alvarez on a minor league deal. The 34-year-old has seen playing time with NL East foes New York Mets and Miami Marlins, as well as the Los Angeles Dodgers. As for the minors, he has logged 843 games, with a .279 career batting average and a .970 fielding percentage at second base.
He has also spent time at the hot corner and in the outfield, so he will likely provide some depth in Gwinnett.
