Atlanta Braves news and notes from Wednesday
The Braves took advantage of their homestand to find their footing and win some games. Much credit has to go to Bryce Elder for finally putting together an outing that both gave the Braves some real innings and a chance to win, although with only 2 strikeouts and 3 walks, let’s just say we shouldn’t expect this game to be a turned corner. Now they reunite with an old friend in Jesse Chavez, as they hope to maintain that momentum on the road out west. The Braves have gotten themselves back into the realm of totally normal records and not a complete disaster, but they still have plenty more work to do. We know this team has the talent and help is on the way in the form of one Ronald Acuna Jr., but they will need more stretches of winning like this to make the playoffs.
Braves News
The Braves brought Jesse Chavez back up to the big league club before Wednesday’s game, but he wasn’t needed as Bryce Elder turned in a much needed solid and long outing.
Eli White of all people hit a monster homer in the eighth inning to propel the Braves to a 4-1 win on Wednesday, securing their second straight series victory and a 5-1 homestand, just what the club needed.
