Atlanta Braves news and notes from Tuesday.
Atlanta Braves skipper Brian Snitker announced Tuesday that starting pitcher Reynaldo López would undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder next week.
Reynaldo López’s right shoulder will get scoped out next week, Brian Snitker said. Braves won’t know the extent of the damage — or if there is any besides inflammation — until doctors go in there during this arthroscopic procedure. The hope is he pitches again this season.

After just one appearance, López has landed on the injured list to add to an already terrible start for the Braves. Though he may be on the IL for longer than anticipated, he is expected to pitch again this season, assuming all goes well.
