The Braves optioned Daysbel Hernandez to Gwinnett paving the way for A.J. Minter to return
The Atlanta Braves announced Sunday that they have optioned reliever Daysbel Hernandez to Gwinnett. The move paves the way for the return of A.J. Minter, who made a third rehab appearance at Gwinnett Sunday.

Hernandez has pitched extremely well for the Braves and hasn’t allowed an earned run in 9 2⁄3 innings across nine appearances this season. He had a 32.4% strikeout rate and has only issued three walks in those nine appearances. However, he and Dylan Lee are the only two relievers on the roster that had options which no doubt worked against him in this case.
Minter was placed on the injured list with a hip injury on May 30. He tossed a scoreless inning at Gwinnett Sunday in his final tune up before rejoining the active roster. Before the injury, Minter had appeared in 25 games and had a 2.95 ERA and a 4.89 FIP in 21 1⁄3 innings.
