The young players get a chance to shine in just under two weeks time.
10 days from now, the Atlanta Braves will participate in the now-annual Spiring Breakout series of games, where each team plays one spring training game where the focus is placed squarely on the top prospects on each organization.
Each tea has officially released their rosters and that includes the Braves, so let’s take a look at them then.

Major League Baseball
Obviously, the big name that’s missing here is Drake Baldwin. With that being said, he’s currently busy trying to make sure that he’ll be ready to (very likely) contribute to the big league club once Opening Day rolls around so it’s understandable that he’s advanced past what the benefits a showcase such as this could provide. The same goes for AJ Smith-Shawver and Nacho Alvarez Jr., who are both trying to make it onto the big league opening day roster.
The same can’t be said for Hurston Waldrep, who had already been optioned to Triple-A before the calendar even switched from February to March. As far as the guys who are actually on this list for this game, it’ll be interesting to see guys like JR Ritchie, Luis Guanipa, John Gil and Garrett Baumann and what they do with the bright lights of the Spring Breakout series placed squarely upon them. This is also done with the caveat that it’s spring training and this could change at any moment but for now, this is who you should be gearing up to see in this season’s showcase.
