Angel Perdomo’s return to the big leagues won’t be happening here in Atlanta as the Braves have sent him to the red Los Angeles baseball team for either a PTBNL or cash.
We have a bit more clarity when it comes to the bullpen situation for the Atlanta Braves and this time it comes in the form of a trade. Angel Perdomo has been battling for a spot in Atlanta’s bullpen during spring training but it’s become clear that if he’s going to make it in any bullpen, it won’t be for the Braves.
Angel Perdomo is now a member of the Los Angeles Angels after the Braves traded him for a Player To Be Named Later.
The #Braves today acquired a player to be named later or cash considerations from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for LHP Angel Perdomo.

Perdomo was having a decent spring training in terms of production for the Braves, as he struck out six batters but had given up three hits and walked four batters while conceding a pair of runs over the course of 7.1 IP over spring. Still, it took a while for his stuff to look like normal again since the reliever had been recovering from Tommy John surgery that ended his 2023 season and cost him the 2024 season. The Braves signed him following the end of the 2023 season and figured that they’d try to give him an opportunity once this season rolled around.
It appears that Perdomo was right in the thick of the bullpen race since he was a lefty and as of right now, the Braves figure to have just two left-handed options in the ‘pen in the form of Aaron Bummer and Dylan Lee. The decision was made a bit easier for the Braves since Perdomo is out of options. If they weren’t going to carry him on their active roster then a trade would’ve been the best way to make sure that they got something for him.
With that being said, who knows when we’ll figure out who (or how much money) the Angels are sending back. It actually wasn’t all that long ago where we saw the Braves make a deal with this same Angels team where a PTBNL was involved and ended up just never being named and the cash was never specified. We’ll see if that’s the case here as well but for now, Angel has been sent to go be with the Angels and we’re closer to figuring out just how this bullpen for the Braves is going to look in 2025.
