The Braves look to avoid their second straight sweep
The Atlanta Braves are taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the finale of a series that has not gone well for them. The Braves have scored two runs in the past forty innings and they are facing a two-time Cy Young winner in Blake Snell.
It appears with Snell being a lefty, Brian Snitker is opting to give some players the night off. Drake Baldwin, Orlando Arcia, Jarred Kelenic, and Michael Harris have the night off. This could likely of been expected since the general consensus is that Kelenic would be deployed in a platoon. It also makes sense that tonight would be the night for Harris to get a breather since he has historically struggled against lefties.
The Braves will look to Bryce Elder to hold off runs for the offense to hopefully get a spark. The odds are not in the Braves’ favor, but we have seen crazier things in this sport.
