The Braves have announced the non-roster invitees to spring training and their top prospect is among the names.
It’s January 29, which means we’re at the end of this month and getting perilously close to February — which means that spring training is right around the corner. As such, this is a good time for the Atlanta Braves to announce their non-roster invitees for spring training here in 2025. As you can probably imagine, there’s one name in particular that stands out in this announcement.

Here’s a selection from the press release:
The club invited top overall prospect C Drake Baldwin to join his third consecutive spring camp after being selected by Atlanta in the third round of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft. Baldwin enters the season rated by MLB.com as the No. 63 prospect in minor league baseball, and as the seventh-best catching prospect in the minors.
Twelve of the invitees have previous major league experience, including a pair of World Series champions. Right-hander Wander Suero won the title in 2019 with the Washington Nationals, while catcher Sandy León hoisted the trophy with the Boston Red Sox in 2018. Infielder Garrett Cooper joins camp as a former major league All-Star, earning a selection to the National League team in 2022 while with the Miami Marlins.
Drake Baldwin will be getting the opportunity here, even though it’s widely expected that he probably won’t be starting this season at the major league level. Still, it’s safe to say that he’s going to get a lot of looks during spring training. Other than that, this is basically just a collection of the players that the Braves have signed to minor-league deals over the course of this winter. Also, this is a bit of a tongue-in-cheek moment here but I wouldn’t be opposed to Garrett Cooper sticking around if only because that means he won’t pop up with a multi-XBH game against Atlanta any time soon.
Here’s the full list of non-roster invitees as reported by the Braves themselves:
