Drake will get some extra reps this fall in an international baseball competition. Also, Touki Toussaint will come along.

Drake Baldwin will join the team in Mexico.Other catchers are on the list are Willie MacIver from the Rockies and Chris Okey from the Dodgers. The buzz is also around Rich Hill joining USA Baseball this fall. Touki Toussaint, who spent time with the White Sox this year, will also be bringing his curveball to Mexico.
The Premier12 tournament includes the top 12 ranked international baseball teams. The USA team will have group play from November 9-14. Should they make the top 2 of that group, the USA will play in the Super Round from November 21-24.
Drake is Battery Power’s #4 prospect and mlb.com’s #5 Braves prospect. He had a .298/.407/.484 line with a 135 wRC+ in Gwinnett in 334 PAs in 2024. Drake has only 86 appearances at catcher this season across AA Mississippi and AAA Gwinnett, so overuse shouldn’t come into play. It seems unlikely that he will see time at DH. But it will definitely serve Drake well to see him get reps at a high level.
