Braves have a couple of a la carte streaming options this year? Will you partake?
As you may have heard, you can watch the Braves without a cable package in Braves Country via a subscription through Fanduel Sports or Amazon. This is something that I have personally been wanting for a long time. Now I can ditch mlb.tv with its delay on serving Braves baseball in my area.
I don’t have traditional cable, and use a cable-like streaming subscription during football season like many others. I do this because cable used to provide more in years past, and I would like to only pay for things I use and want to support. I don’t want to fund cable news and lousy documentary/reality shows. I don’t need to see what the housewives in Greater Des Moines are mock upset about. They have removed the vast majority of movies from cable, and the great dramas are only available through a subscription. There was an attempt to have a sports-only streaming package that appeased the major media companies, called Venu. But that is held up in court because fubo.tv tried to do the same thing and were barred from having it. Maybe we’ll have that soon.
So if you could only pay for what you watch, and most of the money went to the Braves, what would you pay for live Braves baseball? Fanduel’s offering is $20 per month and Amazon’s offering doesn’t currently have a price tag. Do you have cable and only watch the Braves in the summer? No wrong answers here, only flawed media companies.
