If not, what was it?
I don’t know that anyone actually thinks of these things, or about these things, but it’s worth a question, I guess. Sunday’s rainout of an afternoon contest between the Braves and Marlins was helpful for numerous reasons, which add up to it being a potential panacea:
- The Braves get two off-days for the price of one;
- Which is helpful because despite their home opener breakout, they’re clearly still a bit confused offensively and probably need the extra time to figure out what they’re going to do from here;
- They get to skip a start from the backend of the rotation, which is extra-great because:
- Spencer Strider will be coming back, and also;
- Ronald Acuña Jr. will be back so this postponement potentially trades a game without him to a game with him.
That’s a lot of good stuff. It may not matter (much like all the finagling may not matter) if the Braves can’t figure out how to consistently do the stuff they were doing offensively from 2019-2024, but assuming they’re on the ball and realize that’s the necessary next step, this can only help matters.
But, was there a better-timed, and/or more convenient off-day somewhere I’m forgetting?
