It’s been a slow start to the offense but who is most likely to go yard on Saturday?
Well the season hasn’t exactly started the way anyone hoped, unless you’re the Padres, with an 0-2 start and a 1-16 start with runners in scoring position for the offense.
But what makes baseball great is there’s always another game tomorrow and a chance to right the ship. The Atlanta Braves also get a much less heralded starting pitcher to go against after seeing Michael King and Dylan Cease the last two days.
Randy Vasquez gets the start today for the Padres and the Braves offense should have more success because of it. Vasquez posted an ERA and FIP around 5 in 20 starts last season so hopefully runs are coming in bunches today for the offense.
As far as a home-run predictions, we’re moving away from the platoon advantage of the last post, and are going with just straight power potential. Braves have a number of players with monster power so even that doesn’t narrow it down, but right in the middle of the order Marcell Ozuna has been stacking good at-bats so far this season and that continues on Saturday.
Official Prediction
Marcell Ozuna has been one of the best hitters on the planet the last 2 years and doesn’t have a homer yet this season. That changes today.
Marcell Ozuna hits his first of the year Saturday against the Padres.
