Jarred Kelenic is back in the lineup vs a RHP and Short is back in while we await further news on Riley
The Atlanta Braves face Jameson Taillon and the Cubs in what looks to be another low scoring affair. Taillon has a sterling 1.13 ERA and has faced many of the Braves players in his career.
Although Austin Riley is still day-to-day and won’t be in the lineup this evening, if you were to include him in the group of “Braves everyday starters”, all of them have faced Taillon in at least two at-bats.
Jarred Kelenic is in the lineup since Taillon is a RHP, d’Arnaud will be getting the start behind the plate, and Zack Short will again get the start at third base.
Of those in the lineup, Marcell Ozuna has faced Taillon the most with fifteen at-bats. He owns a .333 average and .775 OPS against him. Matt Olson has arguably had the best success against Taillon, but only has six at-bats. He owns a .333 average, 1.262 OPS, and one HR. Zack Short, who is filling in for Austin Riley, has never faced Taillon.

For the Cubs, we still won’t see former Brave Dansby Swanson as he is still on the IL. Only three current Cubs have faced Chris Sale. Cody Bellinger with three at-bats, Mike Tauchman with two at-bats, and Yan Gomes with twenty-six. Gomes is not in the lineup tonight.
Although it should be taken with a grain of salt in only two-at bats, Tauchman does have a 1.500 OPS against Sale.
Here is tonight’s Cubs starting lineup against Atlanta.
