After missing his freshman season in 2021 due to an ACL injury, wide receiver Leo Blackburn got his feet wet on the field in 2022.
Blackburn was being projected as a major contributor for Georgia Tech this season. Unfortunately, that won’t come to fruition.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Blackburn tore his ACL during spring practice this week, according to reports.
Bryce Koon of The Crowded Booth was the first to report the news.

A four-star recruit out of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake in the class of 2021, Blackburn chose his hometown school from a list of more than 20 scholarship offers.
This past fall, Blackburn caught five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown in his first collegiate action. He did all of that damage in two games, hauling in three receptions for 49 yards and a score against Duke and grabbing two balls for 32 yards in the season finale vs. Georgia.
Hopefully, Blackburn will be able to make a full recovery and rejoin his teammates on the field in 2024.
