At one time he was one of the top quarterback prospects in the country, but now in his fifth year of college with his third team, quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is struggling mightily with the Florida State Seminoles.
After going 13-0 in 2023 with Jordan Travis at the helm before graduating, Florida State gave the starting job to Uiagalelei for Week 1 of the 2024 season against ACC rival Georgia Tech. It’s been a rough start to say the least.
Uiagalelei is having a devil of a time getting the ball downfield and it took him 13 completions just to get over 100 passing yards on the day. By the end of the first half, the ‘Noles and Yellow Jackets were knotted up at 14-14.
ESPN analyst Booger McFarland has been watching the game and is similarly unimpressed. Taking to X a short while ago, Booger had a blunt message for everyone in football: You can’t hide a quarterback forever.
“This goes for every team in football College or pro. You can’t hide the quarterback. Eventually they have to play football,” Booger said.

Fans certainly aren’t amused with what Uiagalelei has been showing today:
“They obviously don’t trust him,” one user replied.
“If QBs do not have to the ability to progression read 5 step drop back passes it will cost you!” another declared.
“He hasn’t gotten any better. Scared football,” a third remarked.
Win or lose, Florida State fans are probably going to be nervous moving for the rest of the season.
