Just a few more games to go
We have 2 score sets to report on this week. Most of our pickers showed up for Part 1 of the bowl season, in part one our top picker was connor with 13 out of 17 games picked correctly. We didn’t have as many pickers on part 2 of the bowl season, most likely due to it coming out on the week of Christmas. In part 2 our top picker was browns blow (I have not seen a more accurate username) with 16 correct picks out of 26. Currently the leader in overall correct picks for the bowl season is RamblinRocketman, however connor has the highest correct pick percentage as he only picked games in week 1. Congrats to connor, browns blow, and RamblinRocketman. We have 3 more picks on the year for the semi-finals and finals, thanks to all of you who have participated in these picks through the year.
We definitely had some exciting games this bowl season and finally got some good playoff games. I’m not sure I would say the SEC is falling apart because of a few losses, but it was a pretty embarrassing week for the SEC with losses from Alabama, South Carolina, and uga.
We have 3 more games left on the season and I’m hoping they will be good ones. Let’s get right into things.
picks:
CFP Semi-Final At Capital One Orange Bowl
Played in Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL:
#7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-2.0) v #6 Penn State Nittany Lions
Logan: Notre Dame just took down what many people thought to be the top team in the country in uga (thanks for that Notre Dame). Penn State on the other hand has had a pretty easy ride to the Semi-Finals. I do think Penn State has played better overall, but it’s also hard to gauge considering the level of their opponents. I’m not confident in this one but I do think Penn State should be capable of winning this game.
Logan’s pick: Penn State
CFP Semi-Final At Good Year Cotton Bowl
Played in AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX:
Ohio State Buckeyes (-6.0) v Texas Longhorns
Logan: If you watched the playoff games, you’ll know how scary Ohio State looks right now. I think most teams would be terrified of the prospect of playing the Buckeyes after the beat down they delivered to Oregon. Texas gets this game at home and has a great defense, but I’m not sure the Texas O-line and Ewers are suited to deal with the Ohio State defense. This might be closer than I expect, but Ohio State should still win by a touchdown if they play like they have the past few weeks.
Logan’s pick: Ohio State
