Tech returns to the NIT for the first time since 2017, following a strong end to the season.
After a strong finish to the season, Georgia Tech has earned a spot in the 2025 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) as a No. 4 seed in the “Irvine Region.” The Yellow Jackets will host Jacksonville State in the opening round on March 18 at 7 PM ET, with the game set to air on ESPN2.
Georgia Tech enters the NIT with a 17-16 overall record, having gained momentum down the stretch by winning eight of their last twelve games. Following a competitive run in the ACC Tournament, the Yellow Jackets will look to carry their late-season success into postseason play.
This marks Georgia Tech’s first NIT appearance since 2017 when they made a deep run to the championship game before falling to TCU. The season prior, in 2016, Tech reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated by San Diego State.
If the Yellow Jackets advance past Jacksonville State, they will face the winner of UC Irvine versus Northern Colorado in the second round.
Fans will have the chance to support the team at home in the opening round as the Jackets look to start their postseason journey on a high note.
