The game was a back-and-forth battle, featuring 13 lead changes and 14 ties. Cal had a chance to win at the end of regulation but missed a potential game-winning shot, sending the contest into overtime. In the extra period, the Golden Bears built their largest lead of the game at five points, but Tech responded with a strong finish to steal the win.
Tech’s offense was firing on all cylinders, shooting 55% from the field—its third-best mark of the season. From beyond the arc, the Yellow Jackets were even more impressive, hitting 11-of-20 three-pointers, their best three-point shooting performance of the year.
Nait George continued his stellar play, leading the way with 26 points and 8 assists. Baye Ndongo was dominant inside, posting 26 points, 13 rebounds, and, most importantly, the game-winning basket at the buzzer. Duncan Powell also had a standout performance with 19 points on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting. Freshman Jaeden Mustaf provided a highlight-reel moment with a posterizing dunk and added 8 points.

California put up a strong fight, fueled by freshman Jeremiah Wilkinson’s 25-point outing. Andrej Stojakovic, son of NBA great Peja Stojakovic, also had a big night with 22 points. The Golden Bears made a season-high 13 three-pointers but couldn’t overcome Tech’s offensive efficiency. Cal’s Mady Sissoko contributed a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Georgia Tech, playing once again without Javian McCollum, improved to 13-13 overall and 7-8 in ACC play, putting them in position for a first-round bye in the conference tournament. And, of course, the Jackets once again found a way to win with Damon Stoudamire sporting the blazer—perhaps it’s time to make it a permanent part of the rotation (or perhaps it already is).
Up next, the Yellow Jackets get a week off before heading to Boston College next Saturday.
