What’s the good word?
YankeeJacket: What is Haynes King’s injury? and why is he still playing if he is injured. I am confused.
Ben: Nothing has been officially confirmed about the extent of King’s injury, and I don’t expect that it will be officially confirmed before the offseason, if it happens at all. I think with how well Philo came on against NC State, there is a case that he should ride out the rest of the season and the bowl game so that King can completely heal up. I think he’s playing because it wasn’t certain that Philo would be able to play as well as he has. Miami wasn’t ready for the 2-QB system, and King was able to tear them up on the ground. NC State was ready for it, so we saw a lot more of Philo. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised either way, but I do think it will depend on how UGA’s defense comes out today.
Chris: The only thing I’ve seen is a quote he gave that was something like “I don’t hurt it when running” and that’s why he’s still playing.
gtbadcarma: Shedeur Sanders took a shot at a referee. Although I can understand the frustration, going after a referee physically ,imo, cannot be tolerated. Are you ok with this being “handled internally” or would you like to see something more/made public to make an example of him.
Ben: I think it’s a copout and that shouldn’t be allowed to happen. I also believe that if it was any other player, they probably would have received a full suspension of at least a game from the NCAA.
Logan: The conference wants him to play, it’s better for their viewership. So he’s going to play. Is what it is.
Chris: Yeah I think it’s kinda ridiculous to handle it “internally” because obviously that means nothing. The NCAA is always weird about how it handles punishments though; I’m sure if he got too many servings of team dinner they would’ve suspended him within 24 hours. They might just be afraid of what would happen if they dared to punish him.
DressHerInWhiteAndGold: Bigger win:
GT>Ranked Miami, homecoming, goalposts, etc?
GT> u(sic), no playoffs, and CBK gets $100large?
Ben: Honestly, this is a tough one, but I think I’m gonna go with Miami. I’ll probably catch some flack for this, but UGA’s undefeated season is already ruined. Getting to ruin Miami’s perfect season on Homecoming with the field storming and the goalpost theft is just a bit better to me. But both have the opportunity to be phenomenal.
Chris: I think Miami gets the slight edge for me as well. An undefeated season for UGA is already ruined, and I’m pretty sure a loss to us wouldn’t keep them out of the playoffs at this point. Obviously it’s the thing I want more than anything in the world, but in macro-terms I think the Miami win would matter more.
Logan: screw it, I’ll say beating the dwags is the best. Twist that knife in a miserable uga team. Make them know this rivalry is something they need to take seriously. Also it’ll be really sweet to hear all the pundits have to scramble to justify why uga and the SEC are still superior to every other team and conference after losing to us. It feels like we get a Miami type upset every year under Key, we haven’t had uga in 6 years. I hope we bury them!
GreenMountainJacket: Two part question…
1. What’s the Good Word?
Logan: To Hell with georgia!
Ben: To hell with georgia!
Chris: to hell with georgia!
2. How bout them dawgs?
Logan: Piss on them!
Ben: Piss on ‘em!
Chris: piss. on. ‘em.
