In which we brainstorm some Tuesday activities.
Hello and welcome to our second of three bye weeks!
Above The Line of the Week
- Stew season. My apartment is filled with the aroma of crockpot beef stew as I write this.
- The expectations of maybe going to a bowl game. Obviously it’s not a guarantee, but it feels good to have it be worth thinking about when planning a trip home for Christmas.
- Fall and winter beers. Delightful.

Is that really such an ask?

Is Anything Going On Today?
If you’re not busy today, here’s a quick list of fun activities for you and your friends (or you alone, we don’t judge here at from the rumble seat dot com):
- Think about Georgia Tech football. Lol just kidding, that’s depressing.
- Go for a walk. 15 minutes is great, 4-5 hours is better. Walking into nature forever and never returning to your modern life? Ideal. Take a cue from Mick Dodge and just disappear into the woods.
- Play cornhole until the sun sets, and then turn on some lights to play at night. Cornhole can theoretically be played forever, it’s time someone finds out if an upper limit exists.
- Write haikus until your inner thoughts are structured in syllables.
- 100% one of the newer Assassin’s Creed games. Valhalla might take you 200 hours, so you should probably start as soon as possible.
- Try every Powerade flavor. #CocaColaSchool.
- Think about something real hard.
- Read a book, or several. I’m almost done with a re-read through A Song of Ice and Fire, it’s hard to recommend those books too much.
- Commit fraud.
Look Ahead
Up next is Miami (11/9, noon). People don’t like that this is a noon game, but that’s honestly the time most likely to feature a crazy Miami screw up. Duke almost got away with it last week before the Hurricanes decided they were good again, so we know it’s possible. Offensive production is going to be absolutely critical in this one; even if the defense plays well it’s hard to imagine Miami scoring less than 30 points (and I have zero confidence we can stop Cam Ward so 30 is the floor). The best case scenario for us is to bleed clock with a strong run game and limit the number of possessions they get. Three-and-outs are going to be extremely costly against a team that can score at will.
