Georgia Overview
The Bulldogs’ 28-10 loss to Ole Miss dropped them all the way back to #12, putting the Red and Black squarely on the playoff bubble with the rest of the two loss SEC teams. In fact, if the playoff started tomorrow there’s every reason to think the Classic City Canines would be on the outside looking in:
Georgia is not in the playoff bracket projection but Tennessee is. Big game coming up this weekend: https://t.co/VTkrTc9L0J https://t.co/jkDSjKFXJz

Quite simply, the loser of Georgia’s tilt with the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday is out of the playoff discussion. The winner is likely in if they win out. But it’s not 100% guaranteed, especially with Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss ahead of the Bulldogs. If Georgia gets in it would likely be the third at-large selection (assuming one of the three ranked above them wins the conference’s at large berth).
General Thoughts
Texas at #3 feels very high, though I think that may be because the last time I saw them they were losing to Georgia by two touchdowns then struggling to put away Vanderbilt.
BYU, Notre Dame, Miami and SMU fighting it out for a national title? We’re gonna party like it’s 1985!
I can’t help but smile to see the Washington State Cougars encroaching on the top 15. The playoff committee will absolutely keep them out of serious consideration. But it’s good to know they’re there to make the the powers that be uncomfortable.
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
