It’s the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry week. I don’t care what happened last week, thus far this season, etc. As is said in Coffeetown (hat tip to Wes Blankenship), “If that don’t light your fire, your wood is wet.”
While preparing for the Auburn invasion (or trickle) into Athens, let’s take a gander across the league.
Here’s what’s happening around the SEC.
- Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is expected to be healthy and start against Oklahoma in two weeks, replacing the very effective and very popular Arch Manning. Hear that? That’s the sound of the Austin faithful calling for Manning to enter the game when Ewers has his first incompletion.
- LSU running back Caden Durham should be healthy the next time the Tigers take the field after suffering a foot injury during his 217 all-purpose yard effort against South Alabama.
- Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman looks to be healthy for when the Aggies play Missouri, potentially bringing a spark to their offense.
- Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe is now the Heisman favorite. This is not undeserved, but it’s still early and Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty are off to very strong starts to their seasons as well.
GO DAWGS!!!
