There’s a common meme on the Internet that holds that at a certain age all men have to decide whether to get really into either World War II history or smoking meats.
I got into both of those before I was old enough to vote, so I’ve been forced to go with door number three: bobble head collecting.
Earlier this year I picked up this cool Uga X memorial bobble head from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. Now it looks like they will be producing a companion Hairy Dawg piece which I will be adding to my collection.
In addition to featuring one of only a handful of anthropomorphic mascots who isn’t terrifying to small children, this bobblehead also features a “ranking tracker” placard that I hope to feature prominently behind me on all podcast appearances and video calls throughout the 2025 football season (I understand the individually numbered Hairy Dawgs won’t ship until later this year). I asked if they’re making one of Buzz for Georgia Tech fans, but apparently there were logistical issues putting four panels on the base to reflect the Jackets’ expected ranking just below the Hahira Missionary Academy for Lapsed Chitlin Enthusiasts. Maybe next year.
