Are you ready for some football?
The only game that really matters on this crisp autumn Saturday will of course be played tonight under the lights of Sanford Stadium. But there are a few choice appetizers between here and there:
12 p.m. | No. 2 Ohio State at Northwestern (at Wrigley Field in Chicago) | Big Ten Network
Competitive? Unlikely. But a novel place to watch Northwestern lose a football game.
12 p.m. | No. 3 Texas at Arkansas | ABC/ESPN+
More than likely this one continues the “kick around Sam Pittman” tour for another week. But also, the Pitt Boss and his Hawgs could absolutely send Greg Sankey and the rest of the SEC office into a minor panic if they tack another loss onto the Longhorns’ resume.
12 p.m. | Utah at No. 17 Colorado | FOX
The Buffalos are playing good football, which is a shame given that Deion is still going to leave them high and dry at some point in the very near future. Utah is going to have to decide whether it wants to let BYU beat it twice, or get over the moping epitomized by its athletic director last week.

12 p.m. | No. 20 Clemson at Pitt | ESPN
Early season Pitt has given way to our old friend late season Pitt, which means that Pitt is likely to give way to Clemson.
12 p.m. | No. 25 Tulane at Navy | ESPN2
This game is going to be far more entertaining than it has any right to be. Tulane isn’t actually out of playoff contention despite their ranking, and but for an early loss to Oklahoma which looks worse and worse would probably be in the top 15. Navy is a bowl team that would be the best of the service academy bunch in any year in which Army wasn’t 9-0 and ranked in the top 15 themselves.
