Charlie Condon becomes the new NCAA single season BBCOR home run king as Georgia sweeps South Carolina
The Georgia Bulldogs completed another impressive series this past week against the South Carolina Gamecocks as the Dawgs earned their second straight series sweep. The Diamond Dawgs started the series with a bang on Thursday, as Charlie Condon gave Georgia a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as he brought in Corey Collins on an RBI double. A few batters later, Georgia would strike again as Tre Phelps launched a three-run homer into the Left Field seats to extend the Dawgs’ lead to 4-0.

The Dawgs would keep their offense going in the following inning as Corey Collins would hit a two-run homer, bringing in Fernando Gonzalez to put Georgia’s lead at 6-3. Georgia’s big inning would not end there though as Charlie Condon would step up to the plate the following at-bat and crush his record breaking 34th home run on the season. Condon’s 34th homer extended his home run streak to eight straight games along with making him the NCAA single season home run king in the BBCOR era.

Georgia would proceed to explode for six runs in the eighth inning as Fernando Gonzalez and Kolby Branch notched RBIs in the inning with Logan Jordan capping things off with a massive grand slam to give the Dawgs a 10-6 lead.
