Kirby Smart met the assembled media after Georgia’s wrenching 41-34 loss to Alabama, and to his credit didn’t mince words about what went wrong, who’s responsible, or where his team goes from here. As usual for a road contest the remarks are a bit briefer than normal, but included:
* What adjustments Georgia made at the half to limit Jalen Milroe in the second half.
* Effusive and well-deserved praise for Alabama freshman receiver Ryan Williams, who Kirby reminds us was recruited pretty hard by Georgia as well.
* An honest assessment of Carson Beck’s night.
* What he told his players as they walked off the field after falling just short.
* What went wrong on that first Carson Beck interception (spoiler: Tuscaloosa).
* Background on Mykel Williams’ decision to play Saturday night.
* Some interesting thoughts on the mental state of his team.
As always special thanks to the folks at Bulldawg Illustrated for their crack camera work. Be sure to head on over there every chance you get.
