Georgia basketball began the 2024-25 season with NCAA Tournament hopes. And while some midseason struggles put that goal in danger, the Red and Black Will in fact go dancing.
The Hoop Hounds will be the #9 seed in the Midwest Region, facing off in the first round against the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The matchup tips on Thursday in Wichita.
Gonzaga is 25-8 on the season with solid wins over the likes of tournament teams Baylor and San Diego State. Mark Few’s team punched their tournament ticket on Tuesday by winning the West Coast Conference tournament over St. Mary’s. Also worth noting? The Zags have been in the tournament 28 years running and have made the Sweet Sixteen an impressive 9 straight seasons.
It’s a tough draw, but at least we’ll be watching March Madness from the inside rather than the outside looking in.
