You don’t survive the fiery gridiron crucible that is the UMass Minutemen without getting a total team effort. Still, some Bulldogs are bound to distinguish themselves above the rest. Those heroes of the fall are your MVDs, the most valuable ‘Dawgs from Georgia’s 59–21 win over UMass.
Offense: Nate Frazier. It’s tempting to tab Carson Beck for this honor, and he did have a whale of a day. But Frazier’s 136 yards on 21 carries was arguably the most productive performance from a Bulldog tailback this season. What’s more, Frazier looked far more confident and decisive running the ball than he has all season. Sure that was against a differ level of competition, but I still believe it bodes well for the future.
Defense: Warren Brinson. What is the top one, because it should be obvious to any keen observer that no one on the bulldog defense really covered themselves in glory on this afternoon afternoon. Still, Bryson’s team leading five tackles (and a sack to boot) was a pleasant return to disruptive form for him.
Special Teams: Peyton Woodring. When we hit eight of eight extra points and a booming 53 yard field goal to turn in the premier special teams performance of the day. Woodring has put together a phenomenal season kicking the ball in the best way a kicker can do that: quietly.
Until later….
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
