The NFL Draft kicks off at 8:00 tonight from Detroit across the ESPN family of properties. Georgia Bulldogs including Brock Bowers and Amarius Mims are fairly likely to hear their names called during tonight’s first round.
It looks to be a quarterback-heavy affair, with USC’s Caleb Williams, LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Oregon’s Bo Nix, North Carolina’s Drake Maye, Washington’s Michael Penix, and Michogan’s JJ McCarthey all candidates to be selected in the top 20 selections.
Bulldog fans can probably thank that glut of talent at least in part for the fact that we don’t have a quarterback battle in Athens this season. But the number of other UGA athletes likely to pop up not only tonight but during tomorrow’s 2nd and 3rd rounds should be another great advertisement for Kirby Smart’s program.
This will be the spot for commentary on the Bulldogs selected, as well as any general discussion of the festivities. Who knows, Georgia Tech may even have a player or two selected, at least once all the standouts from Mercer and Kennesaw State are off the board.
