Following the Texas game Kirby Smart lightly chastised a reporter who implied that Carson Beck isn’t playing his best football. The question was fair then. It’s even more fair now.
The simple fact is that Carson Beck had played a halfway decent half of football Georgia would likely have a lead in this game with Florida trying to come from behind with a third string quarterback leading the way. Instead the Bulldogs are trailing the underdog Gators 13-6, will be on defense to open the half, and may need to gameplan a way around Beck’s absolutely pants-soiling play if they are to win this one.
Heads up, Kirby: they’re going to ask about Carson again after this one. Start rehearsing the answer now.
