You don’t just put up a big win over the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech without getting a total effort from the entire team. However even when every ‘Dawg seemed to have his day at some point in the afternoon, some are bound to step up in exemplary fashion. These are your MVDs, the Most Valuable ‘Dawgs from Georgia’s 48-3 win over Tennessee Tech.
Offense: Carson Beck. I hate to be repetitive, but Beck deserves the honors for the second week in a row after throwing five touchdown passes to five different receivers. Sure, some of his passes were a touch off the mark, but Beck got the job done as the leader of the offense once again.
Defense: Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins. With Warren Brinson out Georgia needed some guys to step up on the defensive line. Ingram-Dawkins and Christen Miller both played some key snaps to do just that. But the Notorious T.I.D. in particular caught my attention with his performance. The junior notched a career high in tackles with 4 stops, and a career high in tackles for loss with 3. Given what Texas and Alabama both did on the ground today, we’re going to need some more of that from Ingram-Dawkins this season.
Special Teams: Anthony Evans. Evans had 5 punt returns for 62 yards. But it was his first one, for 46 yards to set Georgia up at the Golden Eagle 22, that put the Red and Black in position to score on their first offensive snap from scrimmage and confirm that the rout was on.
Feel free to drop your selections in the comments. Until later…
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
