Dawg fans, we are now just two days away from kicking off another highly anticipated Georgia Bulldogs’ College Football season. The Dawgs are still currently listed as a 13.5 point favorite for Saturday’s match-up against Clemson. It is expected the Dawgs will take care of business quite easily Saturday, especially after the “Bleed in training until you don’t bleed in battle” quote Senior Safety Malaki Starks dropped yesterday as he has me and the rest of Dawg Nation ready to run through a brick wall. With that being said, let’s take a look at some of the top headlines for this Thursday morning regarding the Dawgs and the rest of the College Football world.
The SEC is currently in the process of mandating injury reports prior to conference games for the 2024 season. When Kirby Smart was asked to speak on the mandate he stated that “I’m great with it, as long as we’re all doing it. I have no issue with it.” Considering the Dawgs won’t play their first conference game until week 3, Coach Smart and his staff should be in no rush to get a process in place if the mandate is passed.
Even with the Dawgs’ season being only two days out, it still isn’t known if Trevor Etienne will be suiting up against the Tigers on Saturday as he is still facing a possible one game suspension due to multiple traffic violations that took place back in March. Branson Robinson is still expected to take a majority of the snaps on Saturday with Roderick Robinson being ruled out with an injury.
In other College Football news, Colorado Quarterback Shedeur Sanders has signed an NIL deal with Nike as the plan is to have his own shoe and apparel line with the company.
There is also quite the slate of College Football tonight as there are a couple of games that will be worth tuning into. One of those games include the North Carolina Tar-heels traveling to Huntington Bank Stadium to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers, kick-off is at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on Fox. The other game worth tuning into tonight will feature the FCS powerhouse North Dakota State Bison traveling to Boulder, Colorado to take on Deion Sanders and his Colorado Buffaloes as kick-off will also be at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN.
With that being said, that’s all for this Thursday edition of Dawg Bites. As always, Go Dawgs!
