The Georgia Bulldogs football team found itself in the spotlight yet again after two more players were arrested and charged with driving-related offenses. But the police report on one of the arrested players, offensive lineman Bo Hughley, is particularly worrisome.
According to the report via the Atlanta Journal Constitution, while driving with recent enrollee Ellis Robinson IV in the passenger seat, Hughley tried to make a sharp curve at a curb but would up hitting the curve instead. This caused the vehicle to careen off the road with the right front wheel shorn off the vehicle. A street sign for the speed limit was apparently knocked down in the crash.
“Driving a Chrysler 300, Hughley approached a stretch of road where, as one road gives way to a different street, there’s a sharp curve. According to the police report, Hughley failed to make the curve, with his vehicle hitting the curb, careening off the road and coming to rest back on the road. The right front wheel was shorn off the vehicle, rendering it immobile at the scene. A street sign for the 25 mile per hour speed limit was also taken out in the crash,” On3 Sports summarized.
“The vehicle damage, along with relevant remote camera footage, have led investigators to doubt Hughley’s claims that the duo were traveling around the 25 mile per hour speed limit when the crash happened, according to the AJC.”
Definitely not good.
Hughley could be in serious trouble with both the team and the law if this winds up being accurate.
