Forget how much of Auburn you have seen this season. Scan any comments made by anyone who calls themselves a fan of the backup school for those who were denied admission to the University of Georgia, and it’s not hard to tell that things are not so lovely over at the village on the plains.
So given that and the fact that Georgia played a second half against Alabama like it was jacked up on a case or two of Red Bull, conventional wisdom says that Saturday in Athens against Auburn should be a historical blowout.
Not so fast.
Auburn was not very good last year, but that did not stop them from coming up with an offensive game plan that gave Georgia fits. Remember, if not for Brock Bowers, the Dawgs probably lose that game a year ago.
The Tigers also have plenty of Georgia-native players on their roster, and other than the Iron Bowl, this a game where you can expect Auburn’s best shot.
This isn’t to predict a Georgia loss. That said, it’s be jumping the gun to expect a record- margin of victory.
Speaking of Auburn, Hugh Freeze thinks that his team could easily be 5-0. I’ll have some of what he is having, please.
Everyone loves the victory moments in the locker room. Who wouldn’t? It’s easy to celebrate and welcome attention when you win. But what about when things are not so good?

Here’s to hoping that Brett Thorson does not get called upon very much on Saturday.
Georgia’s 2003 defense had players that were absolute menaces of which would not be able to play today due to targeting rules.
Monticello’s Odell Thurman was one of them.
Go Dawgs!
