Yes, it’s an off week. But to quote Mike Cooley of the Drive By Truckers, “just because I don’t run my mouth don’t mean I got nothing to say.”
The trainwreck of penalty enforcement aside, there was still plenty to talk about after Saturday’s big win over Texas, and with head coach Kirby Smart and players holding court with the media Tuesday, plenty was offered up.
Chief among them? The status of Dan Jackson and Joenel Aguero for the Florida game. With both being kicked out in the second half for targeting, they’d miss the first half of the Florida game. But could an appeal be in the works? Kirby Smart said little, that’s for sure.
Jackson has been a bit of a swiss army knife in the back end of Georgia’s defense, and being without him in Jacksonville, even for a half, would be a big impact, not in a good way. You can’t blame Georgia for seeking an appeal here, if able.
To sum up Smart – ‘we’ll see what happens.”
Glenn Schumann’s prep for Texas had a whole other layer to it, apparently. In the midst of prepping for the Longhorns last week, he and his wife welcomed a child last Wednesday.
On Wednesday night we welcomed baby Warner to our family!!!! Lauren was incredible (as always) … and Bryson/Whitley are loving life as big brother and sister!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Everyone is happy and healthy!! Oh… and #GoDawgs!!!! pic.twitter.com/KbDAQHrOR1

It didn’t appear to affect Georgia being ready to play.
Looking back at this past Saturday night…

Kudos to the Ice Dawgs. Georgia’s club hockey team for also getting two wins last weekend in Texas.
The even better news for fans in central Georgia seeking a hockey fix is that they’ll play twice in Macon this weekend, playing late Friday and early Saturday afternoon.
