We’ve all seen it. A college football coach has fallen just short of pulling a program-defining upset. The television cameras pan slowly toward him, staring into the middle distance, and you wonder, “Wow, what is that guy thinking?”
As usual, we have some ideas. This was Mississippi State head coach Jeff Lebby as time wound down Saturday night against Georgia.

Friends, what was Jeff Lebby thinking?
a) “Texas is gonna eat those boys alive like Godzilla in a ten gallon hat, not that it does me any good.”
b) “We didn’t lose. We just ran out of Carson Beck interceptions.”
c) “It would be pretty helpful if Lane could find a way to blow it later tonight against LSU, just to take the heat off. But really what are the odds?”
d) “Bye, bye Ms. American Pie….My name’s Lebby, Stackhouse is heavy, we need that kind of guy….”
