One of the top linebackers in the country is reportedly headed to Athens.
Per On3.com’s Chad Simmons, five-star LB Zayden Walker has announced his commitment to the University of Georgia despite serious interest from Florida State, Miami and South Carolina.
“It felt like home,” Walker told the publication. “I made my decision to commit to Georgia over the weekend when I was on my official visit. I had been close to committing before, but that was the right time. My family was there, I knew that is where I wanted to go and I made my decision.”
“I had to make the best decision for me,” the Ellaville native continued. “Georgia is where I want to be. I had colleges pulling at me left and right the last few years, but Georgia is where I can be myself at. They will help me become the best version of me.”
“I have been feeling it about Georgia for a long time. The time is right for me to commit and shut things down. I am committed to Georgia and done with recruiting.”
Walker starred on both sides of the ball at Schley County High School where he dominated on defense while also carrying the ball 77 times for 518 yards and 13 touchdowns on offense.
Walker chose the Dawgs after official visits with the Nittany Lions, Gamecocks and Hurricanes.
