In Week 17, the Atlanta Falcons will battle the Washington Commanders in a game with major playoff implications. Rookies Michael Penix Jr. and Jayden Daniels are set to face off on “Sunday Night Football.”
The Falcons have reclaimed the NFC South lead with two weeks left in the season. If Atlanta can win its next two games, the team will host a playoff game for the first time since 2016. The Commanders are also fighting to win their division after upsetting the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday.
On Tuesday, the Falcons signed linebacker Rashaan Evans and defensive lineman Kyler Baugh to the practice squad. Evans is a veteran with plenty of starting experience and Baugh is an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota.
